Liz Kershaw
Liz Kershaw began her swimming career at age six in Attleboro, Massachusetts, and has been involved in the sport ever since. She attended Ohio University where she completed her swimming career with four varsity letters and three Mid-American Conference Championships.
After college, Liz began her coaching career with Carter Center Aquatics in Roanoke, Virginia, where she was eventually promoted to Head Age Group Coach. While in Virginia, she was twice selected as a Virgina Swimming Zone staff. In 1999, Liz once again returned to Ohio University as a Graduate Assistant Swim Coach. During that time she earned a pair of masters degrees, one in athletic administration and the other in adult fitness and sports physiology. After graduating in 2001, Liz continued to coach the Bobcats and added the strength and conditioning program to her duties.
In 2003, Liz and her husband Andy moved to Dallas, where she spent 7 years coaching for the City of Plano Swimmers on both the age group and senior level. In 2007, she was asked to create a marketing program for COPS that has become a model for many other swim clubs around the country. Liz was one of the first coaches in USA Swimming to take an active role in securing corporate sponsorship for swim teams. Because of this cutting edge development in how club teams operated, Liz was asked to be a presenter at USA Swimming's Marketing Symposium in 2008 and write a blog, which can be found on usaswimming.org. Liz is currently the Administrative Vice Chairman to North Texas Swimming Inc. and looking forward to being a part of the RACE team!
